In short

You can use My Golan without an account, without a form and without giving us your name. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. This page explains the little that does happen.

What stays on your device

Your language choice and the places you save are kept in your own browser. They are never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes them.

The app on your phone

So the site works without a signal, your browser keeps a copy of the pages, the list of businesses and map pieces you have already seen. This copy stays on your device, holds nothing about you, and is removed when you clear the site's data.

Your location

Only if you press Near me does the browser ask for your location. It is used on your device to sort the list by distance, and it is not sent to us or stored.

Outside services the site uses

To show you the site, your browser connects to these services, which see your IP address as any website does:

• Netlify, which hosts the site and keeps ordinary server logs.
• OpenFreeMap, which draws the map from OpenStreetMap data.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS), which serves the map's terrain tiles.
• unpkg, which provides the map's program code.
• cdnjs (Cloudflare), which provides the animation code for the presentation.
• Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze, only when you press one of their buttons.

• Amazon Web Services (AWS),

When you write to usכשאתם כותבים לנו

If you email hello@my-golan.com, we use your message only to answer you and to add, correct or remove a listing. We keep it as long as we need it for that, and we never sell it or add you to a mailing list.

Business listings

Listings carry public business details: name, address, category, phone, website and directions. We take them from what the business itself has published, on its own site, signs or public maps, or from what the owner sends us. A business owner can ask us to correct or remove a listing, and we do it by the end of the same working day, Israel time. We write to a business only about its own listing, and we send offers only to owners who have agreed to receive them.
