For pilgrims, the week before

Seven Days Before You Land

one short reading a day, matched to the road you will walk

"I was glad when they said to me, Let us go into the house of the LORD."

Psalm 122:1

You are landing soon. For the seven days before, here is one small thing a day: three sentences from me, and one teaching to open tonight. Read them in order and you will step off the plane already inside the story, and the guide who meets you will not have to start from the beginning.

1

Arrival, the coast

Day 1 of 7

I am Tai Elon, a farmer and guide on the Golan Heights, and I will meet you when you land. Here on the farm the soil is dry and waiting for the first rains, the way this whole land waits. It is not a backdrop to an old story; the story God wrote here has your name in it.

2

Caesarea, Carmel, Megiddo

Day 2 of 7

We go from Caesarea by the sea up to Mount Carmel and down to the plain of Megiddo. Elijah stood on that ridge and called on the living God, and the red earth under his feet is the earth we will walk. The people in these pages were men and women with dust on their sandals and real faith in their chests.

3

The Sea of Galilee

Day 3 of 7

We spend the day around the lake, Capernaum, the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, and a boat on the water. Yeshua lived and worked on these shores and taught fishermen on these stones. Open your Bible tonight and read what He said beside the water, because you will be standing there.

4

The Golan and the Jordan

Day 4 of 7

We travel north through my home ground to Tel Dan, to Banias, and to Mount Bental, then down to the Jordan. At the rock of Banias He asked His disciples who they said He was, and He asks it still. In the afternoon we stand at the water where people go down into the river to follow Him.

5

Beit She'an and the climb

Day 5 of 7

We pass Beit She'an and follow the Jordan valley south before the road climbs into the Judean hills. Pilgrims walked this road for centuries singing the Psalms of Ascent as they went up. He set His face toward this same climb, knowing every step of it.

Jerusalem

Day 6 of 7

We stand on the Mount of Olives, go in through the Old City gates, and gather in the Upper Room. In these stone streets He broke bread with His friends and walked toward the cross. Read the Jerusalem chapters tonight with a still heart and let them settle.

The Garden Tomb, and home

Day 7 of 7

The journey ends at the Garden Tomb, and then you go home with new eyes. God does not look for the important people; He draws near to the humble and the overlooked. Pack lightly, and come ready to hear Him speak in this land.
