Ten days in the land with one guide from the first morning to the last. The Bible read where it happened, at the pace of feet.
I have guided the land for twelve years, most of it for groups who arrived on a bus with a schedule and left with a list of the places they never reached. The Journey is what I would build if the schedule were mine. It is mine now. Four windows in 2027, one group in each, and I guide every hour of it myself. I live on the Golan Heights, on a farm at Natur, and four of the ten nights are spent there, so the north is walked from home rather than seen from a window.
This page says plainly what it costs, what holds your window, and what happens to your money if the world changes. I would rather you read that before you write to me than after.
Almond blossom on the Golan, the Galilee green, the desert still cool. The best light of the year.
The two weeks before Passover. Jerusalem preparing for the feast, the wheat turning in the valleys.
The week after Sukkot. The crowds have gone home, the first rains are due, the land is waiting.
Clear, cool, quiet. The olive harvest is in and the Sea of Galilee is at its stillest.
One group per window. The first deposit takes it. Private weeks for one to five people, on any other dates, are at my day rate below with the same deposit.
Jonah's port, Peter's rooftop, the sea Paul sailed. The first afternoon after landing, on foot, no bus.
The City of David, Hezekiah's tunnel, the Pool of Siloam, the southern steps, Gethsemane at first light, the Garden Tomb without the queue. Bethlehem and Emmaus from here.
Qumran, En Gedi, the Dead Sea, the road up from Jericho that the parable was told about.
Four nights at Natur on the Golan. Capernaum, the Mount of Beatitudes, Bethsaida, Kursi, Cana, Nazareth and the ridge, the Jordan at its source, the Sea by boat at dawn.
Gamla's eagles, Caesarea Philippi and the gate of hell, Dan, the Hula. The land as it looks from where I live.
One morning in the soil at the farm. Pilgrims remember this day longer than any site.
The order bends to the weather, the feasts and the group. The places do not.
Before you write, watch. This is the voice and the ground you would be walking with.
The guiding fee is the only thing I earn from. Everything else passes through at the price I am charged, and you see the invoice.
Two things, then. Write to me at amitai.elon@gmail.com or on WhatsApp with the window you want and how many you expect. I answer the same day with the written quote and the operator's ground price. When you are ready, the deposit goes by PayPal and the window is yours. Nothing is paid before we have spoken.
Group leaders: a written plan for your days in the north is $150 and comes off your deposit in full.
Walk about Zion, go around her, count her towers, consider well her ramparts, view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation.Psalm 48:12-13
